TITLE 1 Educational Assistant at Tennessee School for the Deaf - Knoxville
Tennessee School for the Deaf Knoxville
2019-2020 School Year, Hours not to exceed 40 per week
  This is a Classified Position
GENERAL INFORMATION This position will be an employee of the county school based on student home residence, but will serve a student in Knoxville, TN at the Tennessee School for the Deaf. You will report to the school daily. Salary will be determined by each county school system.
EVALUATION The applicant selected for this position must complete full background checks including fingerprinting. Background checks will be completed through TBI, FBI, DCS, TN Registry of Sexual Offenders, and TN Registry of Abuse.
QUALIFICATIONS • Hold a High School Diploma or GED equivalent. • Associate’s degree or higher preferred; OR *Have an equivalent of two years of college coursework totaling 48 hours at an accredited institution of higher learning; OR *Pass the Education Testing Service (ETS) Para-Pro Assessment • Working computer knowledge • Multi-tasked oriented, Firm, Team Player • Must be able to work with small groups of students or an individual student for the purpose of reinforcing skills, answering questions, providing constructive academic feedback • Must have excellent attendance • Must be a positive role model for young children • Able to work under the direction of a certified teacher TSD management and complete assigned work-related duties
